Question 1: Why do you want to be DA in Chester County?

Answer: “I'm deeply invested in Chester County as a resident and a father, and my motivation to run for district attorney is rooted in ensuring the well-being of our community. We're witnessing a concerning increase in crime rates, not only locally but in neighboring counties as well.

"It's vital to take proactive steps to prevent a similar rise here. Moreover, I've seen talented friends leave the DA's office because they aspire to be part of the finest prosecutors' office in southeast Pennsylvania. By reforming how the office is managed, we can achieve that goal.”

Question 2: What is your position on mandatory sentences?

“Mandatory sentences are an essential tool in a prosecutor's toolkit, primarily applied in the most severe cases. They serve a crucial role in addressing issues like repeat DUI offenses, drug-related crimes near schools, large-scale drug trafficking, child sex crimes, and homicides. The removal of drug mandatory sentences has impacted our ability to combat drug dealers effectively."

Question 3: What if any changes would you make in the office if you were elected?

Answer: There's an urgent need for change on multiple fronts:

  • Addressing Rising Crime Rates: "Chester County's annual 10 percent crime rate increase is concerning, and we can't overlook the trends in neighboring counties. We must invest in modern techniques and enhance training for our law enforcement officers and prosecutors to effectively combat crimes such as internet crimes against children and identity theft, which have become more complex and widespread."
  • Stabilizing the Office: "Over the past four years, we've lost many valuable prosecutors. To create an office that young attorneys are proud to join, we need to revamp our attorney recruitment approach, collaborate more closely with local law schools, and transform the office culture. It's essential to provide proper training and support, ensuring that prosecutors feel empowered to succeed and become some of the best in Pennsylvania."
  • Community Engagement: “Implementing a community prosecution approach, which deploys resources effectively and strengthens our partnership with local law enforcement, is a priority. We must break down the barriers between prosecutors and the community, reduce the perception of isolation, and enhance trust between law enforcement and residents.”
  • Reducing Case Backlogs: “We cannot have victims waiting for justice for months or even years. Many judges' lists are overwhelmed with cases, necessitating an increase in staffing levels to ensure prompt case closures, without resorting to "fire sale" deals. Collaborating with law enforcement and creating conditions for prosecutors to succeed will enhance the office's overall efficiency."
