Person Missing In W. Whiteland Twp. Was Located, Officials Report

A young man was reported missing very early Saturday in West Whiteland Township, but officials have located him.

WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, PA— A young man reported missing over the weekend in West Whiteland Township has been located and is safe, authorities said Sunday, thanking the community for its help.

During the early morning hours of Saturday, the West Whiteland Township Police Department actively investigated a missing eighteen-year-old autistic resident from the Exton Station development, the Chester County District Attorney's Office reported. A photo of the young man in a bright blue hoodie was posted on social media as officials searched. The post said he was wearing no shoes.

After several hours, the resident was safely found, authorities reported.

The West Whiteland Township Police Department thanked the West Whiteland Fire Company, Good Fellowship Ambulance, the Chester County Department of Emergency Services, the Upper Uwchlan Township Police Department, the East Whiteland Township Police Department, the Chester County Park Rangers, as well as "the residents who answered the reverse 9-1-1 calls, and all the citizens who offered to help."

The West Whiteland Township Police Department said they send "a heartfelt thank you to the Exton Station development who allowed us to use their community center as our command post."
