Philly Man Arrested After Firing Gun In Radnor Park: Police

A 21-year-old man is free on bail on charges of firing a weapon Tuesday morning in Fenimore Park in the Wayne section of the township.

RADNOR, PA —A 21-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested on charges of firing a weapon Tuesday morning in Fenimore Woods Park in the section of the township, police said Wednesday.

Samir Muckelroy-Smith is free on $2,000 bail after being arraigned before District Judge Leon Hunter III in Newtown Square on charges of recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct.

Police said the park was closed for several hours Tuesday during the investigation and has since reopened.

According to Radnor police:

  • At 10 a.m. Tuesday police received a report of a subject with a gun in Fenimore Woods Park.
  • A witness reported hearing a single gunshot and provided a description of the actor and vehicle.
  • As officers canvassed the area, evidence was located confirming the discharge of a firearm.
  • Police located a vehicle and occupant that matched the description provided by the witnesses in the 100 block of King of Prussia Road.
  • During the traffic stop, Muckelroy-Smith was taken into custody. The firearm was also recovered.
