Philly Man Convicted Of Crack Cocaine Possession In Chesco
Darnell Davis is in Chester County Prison without bail awaiting sentencing on charges of possessing 240 bags of crack during a traffic stop.

WEST CHESTER, PA —A 44-year-old Philadelphia man was convicted by a jury in the Chester County Justice Center of intending to sell 240 bags of crack cocaine confiscated during a speeding stop on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Tredyffrin Township.
Darnell Davis is in Chester County Prison Monday awaiting sentencing after being convicted Friday of possessing with intent to deliver cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and related charges.
Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said drug dealers who bring poison into this county will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

“We will not tolerate this criminal behavior and the horrendous impact it has on our community,” Ryan said.
Crack cocaine is a rock form of cocaine that is smoked to create an intense high for about 15 minutes, according to the Foundation For A Drug-Free World.

Davis was represented by Assistant Public Defender Chelsea Holland.
According to court records:
- State police stopped Davis on Aug. 26, 2020, for driving 84 mph in a 70 mph zone on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Tredyffrin Township,
- The trooper detected a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle when he approached Davis.
- The defendant informed the trooper that he did not have any form of identification with him and he was asked to step outside of the vehicle.
- When searching the vehicle, the trooper confiscated 240 bags of crack cocaine, 2 digital scales, and marijuana in the back seat.
