Police High-Speed Chase In Chester County Chase Results In Conviction
A Maryland man was convicted in the Chester County Justice Center of eluding police and crashing into a concrete bridge.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A 36-year-old Maryland man was convicted in Chester County Justice Center of leading police on a high-speed chase that concluded when the defendant crashed into a concrete bridge.
Charles Hymer, of Elkton, Md., is awaiting sentencing after being convicted by a jury of fleeing police and possessing methamphetamine.
“The high-speed chase that Charles Hymer led police on endangered the lives of anyone on State Road at that early hour as well as the lives of law enforcement,” First Assistant District Attorney Mike Barry

According to police:
Police said Hymer and three co-defendants set off a doorbell security camera on Martha’s Way at 4 a.m. The homeowner called state police.Police activated lights and chased the Hymer west on State Road.

The defendant continued driving erratically until he lost control of the car, slamming into a concrete bridge abutment. Police then confiscated methamphetamine that was found on the defendant.
