Police Say Driver Was Slumped Over Wheel, Then Drove Into Tree
A West Chester driver slumped over her steering wheel was awakened, then took off and drove into tree; she's charged with DUI, drug charges.
WEST CHESTER, PA — A passerby noticed a woman slumped over the wheel of her vehicle in West Chester and stopped; when they awakened the driver, she drove off and struck a tree, according to police.
It happened around 6:35 p.m. on April 7, according to West Chester Police, who were called to S. Church and Dean streets in the incident. Police said when they arrived the driver, Brittany Kennedy, 30, of West Chester, appeared to be under the influence.
Kennedy was charged with DUI. Police said they discovered narcotics and paraphernalia during a search at the scene.

Kennedy also is charged with possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to law enforcement reports.
Kennedy was transported to Chester County Prison, where she was arraigned and released on unsecured bail, police reported.
