Police Say Man Threw Escaping Girlfriend Back Into Car

West Chester police charged a man with simple assault and unlawful restraint after they responded to reports of a scream for help.

WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester Police responded to a report of someone screaming for help on Friday night band the inquiry ended in a man being charged with simple assault, and unlawful restraint.

Police responded around 9:20 p.m. on Dec. 8 to the scream report in the area of 600 W. Market St. It led them to a woman who said her boyfriend would not let her exit a vehicle when she tried to. When she managed to get out of the vehicle, she said he got out and threw her back into the vehicle, injuring her head, according to police reports.

Sebastian Sandoval, 27, of King of Prussia, is charged with recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and unlawful restraint, in relation to the incident.

Sandoval was taken into custody by the Upper Merion Township Police Department on a warrant held by the West Chester Borough Police department for this incident. Police said Sandoval was transported to Chester County Prison for arraignment. Bail was set at 10 percent of $5,000.

Sandoval posted bail on Dec. 10. A preliminary hearing is pending at District Court 15-1-01.
