Reenactment Of Encampment At Hopewell Furnance, Elverson
The public is invited to attend a re-enactment of the Civilian Conservation Corps, a voluntary work program that ran from 1933 to 1942.

ELVERSON, PA — The public is invited to commemorate the beginning of National Park Week with a Civilian Conservation Corps encampment from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Hopewell Furnace, 2 Mark Bird Lane, Elverson.
The event will continue from 10 am. to noon Sunday, April 23.
The Civilian Conservation Corps is a voluntary military work relief program that ran from 1933 to 1942 as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal.

Reenactors will provide demonstrations highlighting the role the corps played in restoring Hopewell Furnace during the Great Depression.
Hopewell Furnace was established as a National Historic Site on August 3, 1938, and preserves the late 18th and early 19th-century setting of an iron-making community, including the charcoal-fueled furnace, and its natural and cultural resources.
