Search For Endangered Man, 81, Ends In Avondale Area
PA State Police said Robert Owen, who had dementia, was found dead on Monday morning.

AVONDALE, PA — An 81-year-old man with dementia who went missing in London Grove Township over the weekend was found dead on Monday at 9:20 a.m. by Pennsylvania State Troopers from the Avondale Barracks.
State Police gave no other information in a news statement late Monday morning, but thanked the community and emergency teams for their help since Robert Owens went missing early Saturday morning.
Chester County Emergency Services reported public safety professionals were looking for Owens throughout the day on Saturday. Pennsylvania State Police and West Grove Fire Co. reported they were looking for the 5-foot-10-inch man, 81, they said suffers from dementia.
Over the weekend, social media posts showed family photos of Owen holding a baby, as news was shared with pleas for help locating him in the cold weather conditions.
Owens had last been seen in the area of Rosehill Road in London Grove Township near West Grove Borough, Emergency Services reported. Pennsylvania State Police said he was last seen at 5 a.m. on Saturday, and that he was considered a Missing Endangered Person.
Owens had no known means of transportation or communications, police said. He was wearing black long johns and was possibly without shoes when he went missing, according to official reports.
State Police thanked numerous local police departments and emergency search teams and providers who aided in the search for Owen.
