See When Route 202 Is Restricted this Weekend
Lanes are going to be closed this weekend.

Nighttime travel restrictions are scheduled on U.S. Route 202 and U.S. Route 30 Bypass in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, on Sunday through Wednesday (Nov. 17-20) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for construction to widen Route 202 to six lanes between Route 30 and Route 401, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.
PennDOT’s contractor is widening this 2.6-mile stretch of Route 202 to improve travel and safety. Crews will work at night next week to relocate concrete barriers and paint new traffic lines in preparation for a traffic pattern change that is scheduled to occur in early December.
The following travel restrictions will be in place next week on Route 202 and Route 30:

From 8 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 17) to 5 a.m. Monday (Nov. 18)
- The right lane on northbound Route 202 will be closed between the Route 30 and Route 401 interchanges.
- Eastbound Route 30 Bypass will be closed at the Route 202 Interchange. Eastbound traffic heading to Route 202 North will exit at the Route 30/Frazer off-ramp, then drivers will turn right on Route 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and right at the on-ramp to Route 202 North.
- Route 202’s northbound entrance and exit ramps at the Route 401 Interchange will be closed and detoured. During the closure of the Route 401 on-ramp to Route 202 North, drivers will follow Route 401 to Swedesford Road, then take Swedesford Road to Route 29 (Morehall Road), right at Route 29 (Morehall Road), turn left at Matthews Road and turn left at the on-ramp to Route 202 North. For the closure of the Route 202 North off-ramp to Route 401, northbound Route 202 drivers will exit at the Route 30/Frazer off-ramp, then turn right on Route 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and head east to the intersection of Route 401 and turn left at Route 401.
