The defendant brought a girl from Mexico with fake papers in 2007 and impregnated her while holding her in his home, the DA said.

WEST CHESTER, PA —A jury convicted a 53-year-old Coatesville man of statutory sexual assault and involuntary deviant sexual intercourse after impregnating a 15-year-old girl whom he illegally brought to the United States from Mexico.

The victim told police that in October 2007, when she was 15, Vergara-Dominguez, who was 37, took her from Mexico to the United States with fake documents and the promise of a home and good paying job.

Investigators said the victim told them that in the first couple weeks of being in Vergara-Dominguez's home, she was provided alcoholic beverages and forced to have sex with him.
The victim gave birth to the child on Oct. 27, 2008, in the Chester County Hospital.
After the verdict, Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said Vergara-Dominguez made the victim feel trapped and helpless. "This was an unimaginable nightmare for this victim,” Ryan said.
Assistant Public Defender Stephen F. Delano, who represented the defendant, declined to comment on the verdict.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told investigators she did not see the fake documents used to get her into the United States, and she was threatened with deportation if she told anyone about how she got here.
The victim said Dominguez-Vergara was not present for any hospital visits or for the birth of their child, and he was not identified on the birth certificate. The victim subsequently had two more children with Vergara-Dominguez, according to police.
