Small Business Saturday In West Chester Offers Giftables and Edibles

Dozens of small retail stores and restaurants are offering specials throughout the holiday weekend.

WEST CHESTER, PA — Saturday is an important day for independently owned local businesses in the borough of West Chester.

It’s Small Business Saturday, the kickoff to “shop small” events that emphasize the power of dollars spent in local communities.

Small Business Saturday is sandwiched between the Black Friday retail shopping holiday that tends to favor national brands and Cyber Monday, an online shopping event that this year takes place on Nov. 28.

West Chester has dozens of small businesses, including boutiques, restaurants and more offering special discounts throughout the weekend.

The borough is providing parking free on Friday through Sunday.

All the Dogs: 13. S. Church St., 15 percent off all purchases. Friday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday: 11 a.m to 4 p.m.

Blink: 136 W. Hay St., 35 percent off all purchases. Friday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday: noon to 4 p.m.

Bryn Mawr Running Company; 24 S. High St., in store discounts on apparel and footwear; Friday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m; Sunday: noon to 4 p.m.

Iron Hill Brewery : 3 W. Gay St., buy a $75 gift card and receive a $25 bonus card; Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Last year, Small Business Saturday sales topped $23 billion.

Since the first Small Business Saturday in 2010, consumers have spent an estimated $163 billion, according to American Express, the longtime sponsor of the event.
