Statues Vandalized At Chester County Catholic Church: Police

Rev. Stephen F. Leva notified the parishioners of the weekend vandalism at St. Joseph Parish, according to a letter on the church website.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Downingtown police are investigating a report of vandalism over the weekend at St. Joseph Parish, 338 Manor Ave., according to the police.

St. Anthony, St. Joseph, Our Lady of Lourdes and the Holy Family Statue were damaged Saturday night, the Rev. Stephen F. Leva in a letter to the congregation.

Leva said he is grateful that the Nativity scene was not harmed.

During a service on Sunday, Leva asked parishioners to keep the persons responsible for the vandalism in their prayers.

A damage estimate was not available.
