Stolen Cars Crash In West Chester; Several Taken To Hospitals: Cops

Police are investigating two early morning crashes the occurred during a police pursuit of stolen vehicles in downtown West Chester.

WEST CHESTER, PA —Two stolen cars crashed about a mile apart early this morning during police pursuits in downtown West Chester, police said.

Nine victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment, police said. The conditions of the victims were not available.

Police said the cars were reported stolen outside of the borough.

The first crash occurred at 12:11 a.m. at the intersection of East Gay and North Matlack streets, when a vehicle hit a light pole and tree.

The second accident, also involving a stolen vehicle, occurred soon after the first at the intersection of West Gay and North Darlington streets.

In the second crash, the vehicle struck numerous vehicles in the area before coming to a stop.

West Chester police and fire department and Good Fellowship Ambulance responded to the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
