ON TAP: Brew Pubs Everywhere Around Chesco

Breweries have established themselves as permanent fixtures in Chester County and everywhere else. Here are some favorites.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Brewpubs have been trending for a long time and there's no slowing in sight, as craft beer continues to be a business staple in Chester County.

Chester County is home to dozens of brewpubs. The proliferation of brew venues has spawned websites that specialize in brewery news, too.

Phoenixville has at least half a dozen, with one rumored in the works for the former Pickering Inn location. Conshohocken Brewing Company Rec Room, Steel City Coffeehouse & Brewery, Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant, Stable 12 Brewing, Root Down Brewing, Rebel Hill, and Crowded Castle Brewing Company.

Downingtown has long led the brewery-pack with its Victory Brewing Taproom there, another in Kennett Square and in Parkesburg. Downingtown is also home to East Branch Brewing Company.

Tuned Up Brewing is listed in Spring City, and Stickman Brews is in Royersford. Sly Fox Brewing is in Pottstown.

Kennett Square also has the Braeloch Brewery and Kennett Brewing Company. Berwyn is home to LaCabra Brewery and Frazer has Locust Lane Brewery. Evil Genius Brewing is in West Grove. Avondale has Be Here Brewing.

The Brick and Brew is a favorite in Malvern. Locust Lane Craft Brewery is also in Malvern. Devon and Malvern are both home to a Mackenzie Brewhouse. Exton is home to the Stolen Sun Craft Brewing and Roasting Company.

West Chester has its own Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant, as well as Levante Brewing Company, Boxcar Brewing Company, and Turk's Head Brew Works listed as in-the-works. There is also Wrong Crowd Brewing, and the Artillery Brewing Company set to open soon.

Out in Honey Brook, there is Suburban Brewing Company.

With so many, it may be difficult to choose a brewery to explore. The best site Patch found for Chester County brewery browsing is the Brandywine Valley Brew Scene website.
