KING OF PRUSSIA — Travel on eastbound U.S. 30 will include shifting lanes in West Sadsbury Township starting next week. Lincoln Highway (U.S. 3o) motorists will be moved to the eastbound center lane between Walnut Drive and Moscow Road beginning Monday, July 2o. The altered traffic pattern will remain in place weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until July 31.

The work is part of a project to install Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) improvements.

The project affects U.S. 30 (Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass) Interchange, and on a 20-mile stretch of Business U.S. 30, extending from west of Route 10 (Octorara Trail) in West Sadsbury Township to the U.S. 30 (Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass) Interchange with U.S. 202 in East Whiteland Township, in Chester County.

PennDOT advises drivers to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays may occur. The project work schedule depends on weather and is subject to change.

Bruce & Merrilees Electric Company, New Castle, Pa., is the general contractor on the nearly $6 million project. The work is financed completely with federal funds, according to PennDOT. The entire project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2020. ITS refers to advanced traffic management systems that use information technology.
