Travel On Downingtown Pike Will Be One-Lane Next Week

WEST CHESTER PA — Maintenance and construction will close lanes on U.S. 322 between Copeland School Road and Bradford Avenue, starting Monday.

U.S. 322 (Downingtown Pike) will be reduced to a single lane with flagging in East Bradford Township and West Chester Borough on Monday, Nov. 2, through Friday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. each day.

The lane closures between Copeland School Road and Bradford Avenue are due to construction work by Chester County maintenance, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Friday.

Drivers are advised to remain alert for slowing traffic when approaching the work area. All scheduled operations are weather dependent.

Work on this operation will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the job site, special signing, and relevant training.
