Tryouts Set for YMCA Basketball League

The new, competitive AAU basketball league is open to boys and girls in three age groups – ages 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.

The following was provided to Patch by the YMCA of Greater Brandywine:

YMCA of Greater Brandywine is partnering with the nationally recognized Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) to bring AAU basketball to the Y. AAU is a multi-sport organization dedicated to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs.

The new, competitive AAU basketball league is open to boys and girls in three age groups – ages 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.

Tryouts are mandatory for the league and will be held at the Oscar Lasko Youth Program Center in West Chester on Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1. Tryouts are open to all Y members. Non-members who have participated in two or more seasons of YMCA basketball may also tryout. Tryouts are free to members and are $30 for non-members.

Boys 9 and 10: Saturday, 10 a.m.

Girls 9 and 10: Saturday, noon

Boys 11 and 12: Saturday, 2 p.m.

Girls 11 and 12: Saturday, 4 p.m.

Girls 13 and 14: Sunday, 1 p.m.

Boys 13 and 14: Sunday, 3 p.m.
