Two Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide In Chesco, Police Report Says
Police are investigating the gunshot deaths of an 87-year-old man and his homecare health worker in Kennett Square.
CHESTER COUNTY, PA — An 87-year-old man and his homecare worker were found dead Saturday with gunshot wounds, police said today.
Authorities said the man, who was not identified, was being treated for dementia and required around-the-clock care.
The healthcare worker, a woman who resided in Philadelphia, was assisting the man on a full time basis.

Police arrived at the scene at 5:45 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Kailin Road, Kennett Township, after reports of shots fired.
A handgun was recovered at the scene; no one else was inside the home.

Law enforcement officers are reviewing home security cameras and awaiting autopsies and toxicology reports from the county coroner’s officer before making a final determination of death.
Police believe this may be a murder-suicide and indicated that it was an isolated incident with no danger to the community.
Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan thanked Kennett Township police and all first responders for ensuring that everyone in the area of this sad incident was safe.
“This tragedy impacts the families involved, their friends, and our community,” Ryan said. “We will continue investigating this case and extend our deepest condolences to everyone affected by this devastating incident.”
