U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan Wins Re-election in Chesco and Berks By 16%

Republican challenger Guy Ciarrocchi concedes Thursday, congratulating Houlahan on her re-election.

SOUTHEASTERN PA — U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, a Democratic incumbent, won the race for 6th District by a margin of 16 percent securing her third two-year term, according to Chester and Berks voter services results available today.

Houlahan, 55, of Easttown, Chester County, garnered 58 percent of the votes, amounting to 188,783 votes in Chester and Berks counties.

Ciarrocchi, 58, of Tredyffrin, Chester County garnered 42% of the votes, amounting to 135,621 of the votes in the two counties.

Broken down, Houlahan garnered 151,299 votes in Chester County, and 37,464 in Berks County.

Ciarrocchi got 105,678 votes in Chester County, and 29,943 votes in Berks County.

To date, the projected results of the U.S. House races are 217 Republicans and 205 Democrats. The majority requires 218 seats.

After the election, Houlahan thanked the voters for electing her for two more years.

“This victory belongs to all of you because I would not be here without your support,” Houlahan said.

Houlahan said she is excited to get back to work and fight for lowering costs, protecting reproductive rights, and building a future for the 6th District.

“I will do my best to work across the aisle and continue to pass legislation that will serve and prioritize the needs of every member of our district,” Houlahan said.

Ciarrocchi thanked everyone who voted for him and donated their time and talent, including his campaign team and family.

Ciarrocchi conceded Thursday, congratulating Houlahan on her re-election.

“Congresswoman, this fall during the campaign, you spoke about being bipartisan; securing our border; making us energy independent; and, standing-up to President Biden when necessary—along with your personal philosophy and priorities,” Ciarrocchi wrote on his Facebook page.

Ciarrocchi asked Houlahan to listen when neighbors express their fears about border security, and our need for true energy independence, and their anxiety due to inflation and the sinking economy.

“Many voters embraced your message about bipartisan solutions,” he wrote “I respectfully ask that you carry that message forward.

“For our nation, for ourselves and for our children, I still believe in the Promise of America.”
