Warrant Issued For Suspect In Chesco Vehicle Registration Fraud

Police are seeking a Philadelphia woman charged with forgery and identity theft in Chester County.

WESTTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A warrant has been issued for a suspect in a vehicle registration fraud case and for thefts made using the vehicle, according to Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police.

Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department recently investigated the fraudulent use of a victim's identity to title a vehicle in Philadelphia. Investigators reported the vehicle was then used to commit numerous thefts in a tri-state area, including Chester County.

With the assistance of Plymouth Township and Upper Chichester Police Departments, detectives identified Vanessa A. Watts, 37, of Philadelphia, as the suspect. Watts awaits felony charges of forgery by altering writing, identity theft, and accessing a device issued to another who did not authorize use.

A formal arraignment is scheduled in Chester County Court on Aug. 18, according to court records.
