West Chester East Wins Top County Academic Match
The West Chester team will compete in a statewide academic competition on April 28 in Harrisburg.

DOWNINGTOWN, PA – West Chester East High School came out on top among 22 other Chester County schools Tuesday night in the Chester County Academic Competition.
The competition was facilitated by the Chester County Intermediate Unit and sponsored by Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union.
West Chester East will represent Chester County at the PA State Academic Competition on Friday, April 28, at the Pennsylvania State Capitol.

When asked how it felt to be named the Chester County Academic Competition champions, Dr. Brent Jones, coach of West Chester East’s academic team exclaimed, “We are so thrilled to be representing Chester County and we can’t wait to go to the Capitol – it’s so exciting.”
After a slow start for West Chester East, the team battled back in the final round to take and maintain the lead.

“Tonight proved that all of our hard work has paid off," Alex Chen, captain of the West Chester East team., said.
"We have been practicing three times a week with the same vision — winning this year’s competition. We’re really relishing this moment right now."
Hosted by state Rep. John Lawrence and sponsored by the Pennsylvania State Education Association, West Chester East High School will compete against districts representing their regional intermediate unit from across the state.
The championship team will receive a $2,000 scholarship for their high school, while the finalists will each receive $500 for their school.
