Red October Bus Draws Hundreds To West Chester: See Photos
Hundreds gathered in downtown West Chester for a pep rally as the Red October Bus stopped.
WEST CHESTER, PA —Hundreds of excited Phillies fans flocked to Church Street Wednesday afternoon, surrounding the Red October Bus during a loud midday rally to celebrate the team's playoff run.
The crowd of locals included a large contingent of West Chester University students who seemed to cheer the loudest. Many stopped by briefly, while others stayed for the duration of the rally.
The Phillies theme song, “Dancing On My Own,” blared from the sound system on the bus, as fans tried to catch the attention of Phillies Ballgirls throwing the crowd rally towels.

For blocks around the rally, a steady stream of red-clad fans walked to and from the rally. A young couple walked their yellow Labrador retriever, wearing a powder-blue Phillies puppy jersey near the rally.
Many people who worked in the Chester County Justice Center stopped there during their afternoon breaks.

The Phillies lead the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-0 in the National League Championship Series.
The double-decker bus traveled Wednesday through the Philadelphia metro area, making several stops. The Phillie Phanatic, Phillies Ballgirls, and Phillies 1993 NL champions Mickey Morandini, second baseman, and Milt Thompson, outfielder, were scheduled to be aboard the red bus.
