West Chester Group Takes Stand Against Gun Violence

Motivated by the tragedy at Sandy Hook, the group hopes to advance smarter gun laws.

A small group in West Chester is hoping to have a big influence on the national dialogue over firearms.

According to the Daily Local News, the West Chester Coalition for the Prevention of Gun Violence, has designs on pressuring legislators to enact smart gun laws. Last week, for instance, they visited the office of Rep. Jim Gerlach to thank him for supporting universal background checks for prospective gun buyers.

The group has been meeting every other Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Congregation of West Chester on South High Street.  Coalition organizer Tom Buglio can be reached at gun-safety@ucwc.org.
