West Chester Holiday Festivities Begin This Weekend

WEST CHESTER, PA —The historic downtown West Chester district is decked out with the glow of twinkling lights and festive decorations for the holiday season.

The stores are ready for locals and visitors for early shopping for the holiday during the Thanksgiving long weekend from Friday, Nov. 24 to Sunday, Nov. 26.

“We’re also offering plenty of free, family-friendly activities and free street-level, metered parking as we head into Thanksgiving weekend,” Katie Walker, president of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, said this week.

Presented by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester is a six-week celebration featuring dozens of festive experiences.

Here are some of the events coming up:

Weekend of Nov. 24 to 26:

• Making Spirits Bright Holiday Music Series: 2 p.m. Free concert at by the St. Agnus Parish Combined Choirs on High Street outside the historic courthouse.
• Santa on a Fire Truck: 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 downtown West Chester

• Holiday Window Decorating Contest:Friday to Sunday. Residents can vote using the QR code on posters.

Friday, Dec. 1

• West Chester Christmas Parade: 7 p.m. preceded by Tree Lighting at 6:30 p.m. Adam Joseph ABC6 meteorologist, Kathy Romano of WMMR The Preston & Steve Show will be hosting the parade.
