West Chester Lawn Lights Are A Family Project On Dutton Mill Road
A bright and cheery display in West Chester is the work of a family who moved here in 2016 and made it a holiday tradition.

WEST CHESTER, PA — Hundreds of blow-mold holiday decorations are part of the fun at a West Chester residence that lights up its neighbor and has a dropbox for letters to Santa.
The Lelii family has lived in West Chester since 2016. "We have always decorated, however, it's only really begun to grow in the past two or three years," said Alexis Lelii.
The Lelii family has a collection of more than 300 holiday blow-mold decorations, so the display varies from year to year.

"I don't think anyone has counted how many lights It is a full family project, that starts at the top with my dad, Mario, all the way down to the youngest grandchild," she said.
Lelii said her dad works on the roof because no one else wants to brave that. "The rest of us focus on the lawn."

Alexis said she, her dad, and her mom do most of the work, but her siblings and their children also like to help put out decorations. Olaf is a favorite of the youngest family members.
"Christmas is our favorite time of year and every year I feel like it brings us closer together," Lelii said. "We started decorating the first weekend in November and still continually add a few things here and there. We love all of the families that come to visit us each year and seeing their smiles as they drive by," she added.
Lelii said this year while decorating, many families in the development across the street would walk by, stop and sit on the hill at the entrance and watch the family crew decorate.
"You could hear their conversations with the kids, pointing out what their favorite things were. It makes it so magical and really special hearing the kids. It makes all the hard work and hours worth it!"
The Lelii house has added blow molds to the lawn choir this year, along with some larger Santa Claus figures.
"Even though it is smaller, I enjoy the Santa mailbox," said Lelii.
The lights go on at 5 p.m. every evening at 202 Dutton Mill Road, West Chester, and stay on until 10 p.m.
"Christmas is about joy, and giving and happiness and we feel like we really embody that each year in our display," Lelii told Patch.
