West Chester Man Behind Bars In Elderly Abuse Case

Police said Peter Aleszczyk stole more than $200,000 from an elderly man he was residing with who eventually died.

WEST CHESTER, PA —A 57-year-old West Chester man was arrested Tuesday on charges of exploiting an elderly man by using the victim’s identity to steal more than $200,000.

Peter Aleszczyk is in Chester County Prison in lieu of $200,000 after being arraigned before District Judge Martin Goch in West Chester on charges of financial exploitation of an elderly individual, identity theft, forgery and related charges.

Aleszczyk’s arrest Tuesday culminated a yearlong investigation by the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department.

According to police:

Peter Aleszczyk, owner of KP Holdings LLC, was offered temporary housing with an elderly man who he exploited for financial gain.

Aleszczyk took over $157,000.00 from the victim’s retirement account and charged over $39,000.00 in credit card transactions using the victim’s identity, police said.

He is also accused of taking out $11,000.00 in home equity loans under the victim’s identity and attempting to transfer the victim’s home into his name after his death.

Prior record

In March 2010, Aleszczyk was sentenced in federal court in Philadelphia to 51 months in prison for defrauding a New Jersey business of more than $560,000 to fund the payroll of temporary positions in a pharmaceutical company.
Prosecutors said Aleszczyk did not place any employees in jobs.
