West Chester Man, Physical Therapist, Dies At 27

Joe Conner "loved life and everything about it," according to his obituary.

WEST CHESTER, PA — Joseph David Conner, 27, of West Chester, Pa. passed away suddenly from a brain aneurysm on Saturday March 24, 2018. He was the beloved son of Rick and Monica (Colgan) Conner.

Joe was born in West Chester on July 10, 1990. Joe graduated from B. Reed Henderson High School in 2008 and earned his undergraduate degree (2012) and Doctorate of Physical Therapy (2014) from Widener University, with Academic Honors.

He joined the profession he loved after graduation, working for Excel Physical Therapy, and had recently started a new clinic for the company. Joe was dedicated to his profession and loved helping his clients.

Joe loved life and everything about it. He especially loved sports, playing high school and club soccer and lacrosse during his youth and continuing to play collegiate lacrosse for a few years while at Widener. He continued his love of sports after graduation, playing in adult ice hockey and soccer leagues. Snowboarding was also a passion. Joe loved summers at the Sea Isle shore with family and friends. He was so looking forward to becoming an uncle soon.

Joe’s biggest passion was his family and friends. He loved to laugh and make others laugh and there was always a smile on his face. He had a sarcastic wit as evidenced by the various outfits and t-shirts he owned and the gifts he gave others. His great bear hugs will be missed by his family along with his beautiful smile.

Joe loved and was loved by his parents, Rick and Monica and by his brother Tim and his wife Danielle, his sister Lauren, grandparents Ginny Conner and David Colgan and Aunts and Uncles Fran Hammer (Fred), Patricia McRae (Bill), Michael Colgan (Patty), Will Colgan (Diane), Terri Colgan, Sr Denise Colgan RSM, Joan Kane (Jim), Anne Wellman (Jimmy), Tom Colgan (Barbara), Dan Colgan and 14 cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his grandmother Eleanor Colgan and his grandfather Richard Conner.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tues March 27, 2018 from 5-8 pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith, and Boyd Funeral Home Inc. 410 North Church St. West Chester, 610-696-1181 www.DellaFH.com. Another visitation will be held on Wednesday March 28, 2018 from 9-10 am at the St. Agnes Church 233 West Gay Street followed by his Funeral Mass at 10am. Interment will be at the St. Agnes Cemetery.
