West Chester Native, 50, Remebered For 'Easy Smile, Quiet Laugh'

Local man Lewis Anthony Malavolta "could make a person feel comfortable immediately," his obituary reads.

WEST CHESTER, PA -- Lewis Anthony Malavolta, 50 of Parkesburg, PA died Wednesday January 17, 2018 at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit in West Chester.

He was the husband of Michelle L. White Malavolta.

Born May 13, 1967 in West Chester, PA he was the son of the late Dominic Joseph Malavolta and the late Caroline Parry Malavolta.

Lew was a 1986 graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School. He started his working career as a driver for the Pepsi Cola Company and then transitioned into a heavy equipment operator. In 2010 he formed LNJ Excavating with his sons Nicholas and Jonathan.

Lew was loved by many. He had that easy smile, quiet laugh, could make a person feel comfortable immediately, and loved his family beyond measure.

Lew was a social member of the VFW in Parkesburg and Coatesville. As an avid woodworker, he enjoyed restoring antique items and was in the process of restoring his 1967 Chevy C10 pickup truck.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Nicholas Malavolta and his wife Amanda of Coatesville, Jonathan Malavolta of Parkesburg, PA, granddaughter, Olivia Caroline Malavolta, sisters, Carol Taylor and he husband William of West Chester, Maryann Seltzer and her husband Bryan of Parkesburg and Kathleen Sullivan and her husband William of South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dominic "Joey" Malavolta.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Monday January 22, 2018 from 6-9pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home 410 North Church St. West Chester, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at the St. Agnes Church 233 West Gay St. West Chester. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery.
