West Chester Parking Garage Scene Of Co-Worker Assault: Police
West Chester Police report an aggravated assault charge against a man suspected of severely injuring a co-worker in a parking garage.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A parking garage assault in West Chester that left a victim hospitalized with head injuries was the action of a man the victim knew and worked with, according to police.
West Chester Police were alerted of an assault in the Justice Center Parking Garage, 220 West Market Street, in the Borough around 6 p.m. on Aug. 8.
The victim told police a co-worker had repeatedly punched him in the face and head and slammed his head against a glass window several times. Police reported the victim was later hospitalized due to the severity of the injuries to his face and head.

The accused attacker was known to the victim, and police issued a warrant as they attempted to find the suspect, the police report said.
The suspect, Dwayne Simmons, 43, of West Chester, was later found by West Whiteland Police Department. Simmons has been charge with aggravated assault and simple assault. Bail was set at $50,000, court records show.

A preliminary hearing was held Sept. 10 at Magisterial District Court 15-1-01. A formal arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 30.
