West Chester: Police Searching For Suspects In Attempted Burglary
Police arrested suspects for drunken driving, attempted burglary and simple assault associated with domestic violence.

WEST CHESTER, PA —During the first week of the New Year, West Chester police officers arrested suspects on charges of drunken driving, simple assault and attempted burglary.
Crime:
- Attempted burglary: West Chester police are searching for suspects on an attempted burglary that occurred between 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9 and 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 and the West Chester Cycle located in the 700 block of Downingtown Pike, East Bradford Township. Police said several doors were pried open, but there were no items missing from the store. Anyone with information, is asked to contact Officer David Barnes at 610-696-2700.
Arrests:
- Dale Hugan, 58, of West Chester is free on $5,000 bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Police said at 12:50 Saturday, Jan. 7 Hugan was involved in a disturbance in the 600 block of West Market
- Ryan Wade, 44, of West Chester is in Chester County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail on charges of simple assault and harassment. Police said Wade arrived at the police station on Jan. 1 to report criminal mischief that occurred during an altercation at his residence in the 500 block of East Barnard Street. Through an investigation, police discovered that he was a suspect in an assault during a domestic incident.
- Clifford R. Nordquist, 54, of New York, is free on nominal bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on a charge of drunken driving. Police said he was driving under the influence on Thursday, Jan. 5 in the first block of East Market Street.
- Emily Lutz, 25, of Phoenixville, is free on nominal bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on a charge of drunken driving. Police said Lutz was driving under the influence of alcohol when her vehicle rolled over on its side in the first block of South Brandywine Street on Sunday, Jan. 1 at 2:45 a.m.
- Jamie Layre, 19, of Royersford, is free on nominal bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on a charge of drunken driving. Police said Layre showed signs of impairment during a traffic stop at 10:39 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1.
