West Chester University Career Fair Set To Go
Employers will be on campus from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Student Recreation Center, 275 North Campus Drive.
WEST CHESTER —The job hunt for college students is expected to be easier this year.
“Employers plan to hire 26.6% more new graduates from the Class of 2022 than they did from the Class of 2021,” according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ Job Outlook 2022 report.
West Chester University’s Twardowski Career Development Center is coordinating the in-person fair that will enable hundreds of students to network and learn about current and future employment opportunities in the region.
Recruiters from business, education, healthcare, technology, nonprofit and government sectors will be on campus to meet students and alumni for internships and employment.
What are employers looking for these days?
“Employers are looking for employees who have command of emotional intelligence,” Jennifer Rossi Long, director of the career development center, said in a prepared statement. “In today’s hybrid job markets, employers want their employees to have skills that cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence."
Long said employers are looking for solid academic backgrounds, interpersonal communication, creativity, problem solving, and empathy.
