West Goshen Township Police Charge Wawa Robbery Suspect

A suspect wanted in West Goshen Township robberies of a Wawa and 7-Eleven last month was charged this week, police announced.

WEST GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in West Goshen Township identified, apprehended, and charged an 18-year-old man in connection with the armed robberies of a Wawa and a 7-Eleven store on July 19.

Jabbar A. Burk of Philadelphia is charged with two felony counts of robbery; and two other felonies — possession of a firearm prohibited, robbery with threat of immediate serious injury. He is also charged with false imprisonment, simple assault, unlawful restraint, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and theft from a motor vehicle, according to court records.

In the early hours of July 19, suspects held up a 7-Eleven store at 1165 West Chester Pike and a Wawa at 1050 West Chester Pike. The gas station robberies happened three minutes apart, both just before 3 a.m., police reported.

Police said in both robberies the suspects showed firearms though there were no reports the weapons were fired. Police reported at the time an undisclosed amount of money was taken in the incidents, along with tobacco products.

West Goshen Township Police reported Burk was apprehended by police and charged on Aug. 11.

He was arraigned before Judge Goch where bail was set at $ 150,000 cash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 23, court records show.

Police reported they expect to charge other suspects.
