Winter Weather Advisory Issued In Chester County

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Chester County and the greater Philadelphia area are bracing for another round of severe winter weather this week as a storm is expected to bring several inches of snow.

The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday. Rain will begin late Monday night and change over to snow in the early morning hours.

"Plan on slippery road conditions," the National Weather Service's Mt. Holly, New Jersey branch said. "The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute."

Snowplows and salt crews were already being prepared early Monday as the region braces for the storm. Somewhere between 2 to 4 inches is expected, but exact totals remain variable.

"Briefly heavy snow will be possible around the time of the morning commute, with snowfall rates of one half to 1 inch per hour possible," the National Weather Service added. "There is uncertainty regarding snow amounts and how efficiently the snow will accumulate on roads, given mild temperatures with precipitation starting as rain overnight."
