ā¢ Berks food safety inspections found 23 violations at restaurant, including excessive old food debris,trash (readingeagle.com) ā If you eat or shop in Wyomissing, several local spotsāfrom Cigar Plus and State Hill Craft Cocktails to Target, Wawa, and Crumbl Cookiesāwere just inspected by state food safety officials. Most passed with minor issues, but some had problems like sanitizer failures, expired infant formula, and dirty equipment that were corrected or require follow-up, giving residents a timely look at kitchen cleanliness. 
ā¢ Penn State Berks adopts Lyft program to serve student needs (psu.edu) ā Penn State Berks in Wyomissing is rolling out a new Lyft-based Emergency Rides 2026 program that gives students free, carbon-neutral trips to hospitals, urgent care, pharmacies, and community service sites. Funded through Student Affairs and coordinated with Penn Stateās transportation office, the service aims to close transportation gaps for health needs and long-term volunteer projects around Berks County.
ā¢ Mid Penn Bank donates $8,000 to YMCA of Reading & Berks (readingeagle.com) ā Families in Wyomissing may benefit indirectly from Mid Penn Bankās $8,000 contribution supporting YMCA of Reading & Berks County early learning programs, with one of the bankās branches located right in town. The EITC-funded gift will expand scholarships, staff development, and classroom resources at STAR 4-rated YMCA Early Learning Centers, helping more children across Berks County access high-quality preschool and childcare while supporting working parents.
