3 New Deaths As Bucks Co. Coronavirus Cases Slow

On Monday, 101 Bucks County residents remained hospitalized with COVID-19.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Three more people died with the new coronavirus in Bucks County on Monday, even as the number of new cases in the county continued to show signs of slowing.

The people whose deaths were reported were a 63-year-old man, a 78-year-old woman and an 86-year-old woman. Their deaths brought the county's total from the virus to 41.

Meanwhile, 46 new cases of the virus were reported Monday, bringing the Bucks County total to 1,273. Of those, 264 people have recovered and been released from isolation.

By comparison, there were 80 new cases of the coronavirus in Bucks County last Monday and 104 new cases the following day.

On Monday, 101 Bucks County residents remained hospitalized with COVID-19. Of those, 26 were in critical condition and on ventilators, according to county health officials.

Among Monday's new cases were four inmates at the Bucks County Correctional Facility. All four had already been isolated and, as a precaution, prison officials imposed a 72-hour lockdown to minimize spread of the virus, said Dr. David Damsker, director of the Bucks County Health Department.

In Bucks County, the average age of those who have died with the virus is 80, Damsker said.
