Bucks Co. Young Democrats Approve LGBTQ Measure
It calls for state, federal and local governments to pass anti-discrimination laws.
Bucks County Young Democrats have unanimously approved a resolution calling for laws that prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity and expression.
The resolution was approved Friday evening at the Young Democrats' inaugural 2020 meeting in Newtown.
"It’s long past time for LGBTQ people to have equal protection under the law," said Yardley councilman and Bucks County Young Democrats President David Bria. "I can proudly say that every Democratic state representative and senators from Bucks County is co-sponsor of the PA Fairness Act, and each of the Democratic congressional candidates have pledged their support to the Federal Equality Act.
