Democrat Withdraws From Bucks Co. U.S. House Race (ICYMI)
Judi Reiss is the Bucks County prothonotary and a former supervisor in Lower Makefield Township.

LANGHORNE, PA — One of the Democrats seeking to unseat Republican U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick in November's election announced Monday she is leaving the race.
Judi Reiss, who currently serves as Bucks Couty's prothonotary, announced via social media that she is stepping out of the race for Pennsylvania's 1st Congressional District, which represents Bucks County.
"Over the past year, while running to serve you in the United States Congress, I have also continued to serve as Bucks County Prothonotary, a position in which I was elected to do by the people of this county," Reiss said in the statement. "I am honored to hold that position. I have also continued to be a wife, mother and grandmother, no easy task. However, I feel I can no longer give each of these very important jobs my all, or provide each the attention they so rightfully deserve."

Reiss, a former supervisor in Lower Makefield Township, thanked those who supported her campaign and pledged to keep working on behalf of Bucks County.
"I believe there is still work to be done to protect the air, water, healthcare, education, and economic security of every family in this district ...," she said. "We must work together to provide a future full of opportunity for each other and our children."

Reiss had been one of four Democrats running to face Fitzpatrick.
Those remaining are Ivyland Borough Councilwoman Christina Finello, Pennsbury school board member Debbie Wachspress and former congressional staffer Skylar Hurwitz.
Fitzpatrick also is being challenged in the Republican primary by financial planner Andrew Meehan.
Fitzpatrick defeated Democratic challenger Scott Wallace in 2018 by a vote of 168,841 to 160,098.
His Bucks County district has been watched closely by national observers as an opportunity for Democrats to pick up a GOP-controlled seat.
