Man Found Dead In Delaware River ID'd

Bucks County Coroner Patti Campi said the 23-year-old man drowned while swimming in the Delaware River last week.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The missing swimmer whose body was found in Yardley last week has been identified, authorities said.

Bucks County Coroner Patti Campi said the swimmer was identified as 24-year-old Victor Alfredo Mateo-Lopez of Trenton, N.J..

Lopez was pulled from the Delaware River in the Yardley-Morrisville area on June 25 and pronounced at 8 p.m., the coroner said.

Campi said that the cause and manner of Lopez's death are drowning and accidental.

The Marine Rescue Unit of the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company pulled the swimmer's body from the river, officials said.

The man went missing on Tuesday, according to the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance Squad.

"Despite the efforts of many, the search continues," the squad posted last Tuesday on its Facebook page. "Our hearts are heavy, and we’re holding this young person’s loved ones in our thoughts.
