More Than 2,000 Without Power In Falls, Lower Makefield

PECO was estimating that service would be restored to everyone by shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — On a rainy Monday afternoon, more than 2,000 customers were without power in the area of Falls and Lower Makefield townships.

According to PECO's outage map, 2,016 customers were without service due to an outage at about 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The outage was centered around the area of Makefield Road and Big Oak Road.

PECO was estimating that power would be restored to the area by 6:20 p.m.

PECO's website listed the cause of the outage as undetermined. But it happened on an afternoon when the area had been soaked with steady rain throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service, the impacted area saw rain with gusty winds and the possibility of a few lightning strikes Monday afternoon.

The forecast called for a continued chance of rain through about 7 p.m., turning to a chance of showers between 7-9 p.m. The chance of rain was 50 percent.
