Morrisville Restaurant Robbed Of $500 In Food
Comfortfood and Kitchenette's owner urged the thieves to donate to a food shelter and asked followers not to wish harm upon them.
MORRISVILLE, PA — Like many restaurants, Comfortfood and Kitchenette in Morrisville was already struggling to adjust to the coronavirus shutdown and keep its customers fed last week.
That's when two women walked up and swiped nearly $500 worth of food.
Owner Kim Quay said the restaurant, on Alden Avenue just off of Trenton Avenue, has been doing contactless pickups. Customers phone in an order and restaurant workers place the food on a table in front of the restaurant.

They'd just put out two huge orders, according to Quay, when the women — wearing yoga pants and North Face vests — got out of a newer model SUV, took the food and left.
"Aside from the money, which we’re killing ourselves to make these days, it’s the sheer selfishness of the act," Quay said in a Facebook post Tuesday. "These were not people who are food insecure. They did this for sport and because they knew they could get away with it."

Quay said it was just bad luck that the women, who had been sitting outside the neighboring 7-Eleven store, grabbed such a big order. Most big orders from the restaurant top out at around $100, she said.
"It was just lucky for them they they got such a great haul," she said.
She said police have been notified about the theft and she shared security camera images of the women in hopes that someone might recognize them. But she's trying to stay positive about the whole experience.
"What we do have is a community of people who don’t want us to fail," she said.
On Facebook, she urged followers not to threaten the women or wish bad things upon them. She urged the women to donate to the Trenton Soup Kitchen or Men's Shelter "to try to right their karma."
"Oh, and if y'all could buy a couple cookies to make up for the money and time we lost with this, we sure would appreciate it," she wrote.
Comfortfood and Kitchenette currently is open for takeout and grocery pickup 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
