Part Of Makefield Road Closed For 2 Weeks (ICYMI)

Pennsylvania-American Water Company will be installing pipe under Rock Run Creek during the closure.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A stretch of Makefield Road in Lower Makefield Township will be closed for the next two weeks, officials have announced.

The road closure starts just north of Big Oak Road and runs north to Sutphin Road.

Pennsylvania-American Water Company will be installing pipe under Rock Run Creek during the closure, township officials said Thursday.

During the closure, the following detours will be in place:

  • From Yardley Road: Take Yardley Road/Main Street to Pine Grove Road to points south.
  • From Makefield Road southbound: Take Sutphin Road to Yardley Road to Pine Grove Road to points south.
  • From Makefield Road northbound: Make a left or right onto Big Oak Road.

Makefield Road southbound will remain open to the schools and Pennsbury Court, township officials said. They said traffic to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church should use the entrances off of Big Oak Road.
