Man tried to choke WellSpan York Hospital worker, police say (yorkdispatch.com) — A York County man is accused of choking a nursing assistant at WellSpan York Hospital while he was a patient there, leading to felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges. Police say staff intervened, the worker was treated for neck bruising, and the suspect is now held in York County Prison on $10,000 bail with a February preliminary hearing scheduled.

Neighbors, veterans, and supporters helped Paws of War bring the dog to Hanover for a surprise birthday homecoming, giving the soldier a powerful source of comfort ahead of major cancer surgery.

From cheese ball container to forever home: Looking back at the heartwarming rescue of a York County dog (wgal.com) — A York County dog’s frightening ordeal with a cheese ball container stuck on her head ended in a successful rescue, full recovery, and adoption by her foster family. Local volunteers, a drone operator, and Canine Rescue of Central PA teamed up to track her through Dillsburg cornfields, while a snack company stepped in to cover her medical bills and lifelong cheese ball supply.

York Suburban routs West York in key YAIAA Division II girls clash (ydr.com) — York Suburban’s girls basketball team dominated West York, 62-29, in a key YAIAA Division II matchup, powered by 18 points from Brynn Barley and 15 from Julia Gerber.
