2-Month-Old Baby Nearly Died: Rhode Island DCYF
The baby was "open to DCYF" when it nearly died, the department reported.
A 2-month-old baby nearly died Monday, the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families reported.
DCYF disclosed the "near fatality" the same day as the "incident" and "notified the Office of the Child Advocate," according to a media release.

"The infant was open to DCYF at the time of the incident," the release said.

"While confidentiality laws prohibit DCYF from disclosing additional details, we are always
disheartened to learn of these incidents," the release said.

Last week, DCYF reported the death of a 2-year-old due to maltreatment.
The 2-year-old died Nov. 26.

"The child and the family were not open to the Department at the time of this incident," according to a media release.
