Poll Reveals Rhode Islanders Pick To Spend Last Ever New Year's Eve

That's exactly what life insurance agency Choice Mutual asked and 3,026 respondents answered.
The most popular spot for Rhode Islanders? An empty Block Island beach ranked first, where Ocean Staters said they would stargaze.

"If Rhode Island is where your last New Year’s Eve finds you, you might be lying on a nearly empty Block Island beach," according to a media release accompanying the results of the survey.
"No stages, no program, just winter surf, a flask, a blanket, and maybe a distant flicker of fireworks from the mainland," the release said. "You’d count down with the waves instead of a crowd, trading spectacle for solitude — a deliberately quiet “Firework Farewell” when you’ve had your fill of noise."
