Rhode Island Jobs Up, Unemployment Down: Department Of Labor

Jobs rose by 200 from October to November, the Rhode Island Department of Labor reported.

Rhode Island jobs rose from October to November and unemployment declined, the state's department of labor and training reported.

Jobs at Rhode Island businesses rose by 200 in November as unemployment rate dropped two-tenths of a percentage point from September 2025 to 4.3%, according to a media release from labor and training.

"Over the year, jobs were down 500 from November 2024, and the unemployment rate was down two-tenths of a percentage point," the release said. "Due to the Federal Government shutdown, no labor force estimates were produced for October 2025."

The unemployment rate in November 2024 was 4.5%.

The U.S. unemployment rate was 4.6% in November, up two-tenths of a percentage point from September. The U.S. rate was 4.2% in November 2024.
