Avis B. McCulloch, 78, Golfer, Gardener, Bridge Player

Avis B. McCulloch, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. She was 78.

Born on April 19, 1935 in the Great Works section of Old Town, Maine, she was a  daughter of Edward and Delcina (Currier) Buchanan, the youngest of their 10 children. 

She adored her family, loved to entertain, and had such amazing style and grace. She was a member of the the Rhode Island Country Club, a golfer, a gardener and an avid bridge player. 

She leaves behind her two loving daughters, Mary E. McCulloch of Heathrow, Florida, and Christina M. Ardente and her husband, Mark, of Barrington, her three grandchildren, Michael, David and Andrew Ardente, her sister Mary Holohan of Wake Forest, NC and her many nieces and nephews. 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am today, Dec. 2, at St. Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Road, Barrington. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to St. Andrews School, 63 Federal Road, Barrington RI 02806 or St Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Road, Barrington 02806
