Blaze Guts Car Parked in Driveway

The vehicle apparently had been running rough before it burst into flames, according to the Barrington incident report.

Barrington firefighters had to extinguish a blaze in a 1999 Volvo owned by a Burr Avenue man last Friday afternoon, Nov. 22. The blaze totaled the vehicle, which was sitting in his driveway when it burst into flames.

The fire was reported about 4:37 pm. It caused no other damage and no one was injured, according to the police report.

The man told police that the car had been "running rough" and the emissions light on the dashboard had turned on recently, said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross.
