Brody Elected to Head School Committee

Brody is entering her fourth year on the Barrington School Committee; she replaces Robert Shea Jr. as chairperson.

The Barrington School Committee has a new chairperson.

Kate Brody was elected to head the board at the annual organizational meeting on Thursday night, Dec. 5. She steps up from serving as vice chairperson to take the place of Robert Shea Jr., who stepped down, as the head of the committee.

“I’m honored to serve in this role,” said Brody. “I will have the privilege to have as guides Robert Shea and Patrick Guida.”

Guida, in particular, has served as the board chairperson for more than 10 years. Shea has served twice in that role. 

Brody is entering her fourth year on the School Committee. She was elected to the school board in 2010 and has always been an outspoken and very active member of the board.

The School Committee also elected a new vice chairperson to take Brody’s place. Paula Dominguez, finishing her first year on the board, will serve in the second seat.
