European Style Bistro Opens in Barrington

The Table restaurant is serving breakfast and lunch right now; it will start serving full dinners in early December.

Barrington’s newest restaurant opened its doors on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

The “Table” restaurant in the Coastal Commons plaza at 8-10 Anoka Ave. is serving breakfast and lunch to start, said Claude Lochet, general manager of the eatery.

“We won’t go to dinner hours until early December,” Lochet said. “The hours now are 7 am to 3 pm.”

Things flowed smoothly on the first day for the European bistro-style eatery, he said. Patrons came and went all day.

One of his first customers on Tuesday, Kristin Meranda of Barrington, came back on Wednesday morning and brought a friend, Celeste Curioso of Barrington. Meranda said she is pleased so far with what she has experienced.

“You are one of our regulars,” said Lochet.

Meranda was enjoying a special tea and Curioso was drinking a cup of Illy coffee, an Italian blend featured at the restaurant, said Lochet.

“We have Illy coffee and special RI made teas, craft local beers and an exceptional wine list at good value,” he said.

One of the Wednesday specials created for lunch by Johnson and Wales trained chef Taylor Pelton was a pan-roasted maitake mushroom on crème fraiche with an anchovy crumb and parmesan asiago topping.
